Intentions

I have wanted to start this blog or something like it for a while now. Something to help people (myself included) focus on the light in the world that seems to have so many dark corners. Then our current problems began. Now news seems to be filled with ever increasing death tolls and a heavy dose of fearful headlines; a steady diet of which cannot be good for our individual or global health.

Here though I want to give anyone an opportunity to write about moments of humanity, of kindness, of genuine human connection amidst the isolation and panic. What happened to make you feel connected again? What brought you peace, calm, or faith again? Whose sacrifice would you like to recognize in our state of world pandemic?

I would like to start by expressing my amazed gratitude for those working in our local grocery stores and restaurants. I live in a small community compound on the western coast of Saudi Arabia on the shores of the Red Sea. Here our grocery stores are daily operated by men from around the world. Pakistani, Filipino, Iranian men etc. serve to keep our store stocked and running. They work tirelessly. I try to communicate my gratitude when I go to shop but I do not have words for my feelings and how it has impacted my life. With so much uncertainty, their service is invaluable to our small community.
Who has inspired you?
Your story can be short, long, about something you did, about someone who helped you, or about how you are coping! Let us share the beauties of our lives not to hide the darkness but to remind ourselves that shadows exist because light came first!
